The commitment
This practice treats people who are in pain, and some of them arrive here using a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or a browser set to larger text. A website that keeps any of them from finding a phone number is a website that has failed at its only job.
Accessibility is treated here as part of building the site, not as a box ticked afterwards.
The standard we build to
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, Level AA. That is the standard the Department of Justice points to for websites covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, and it is the one this site is designed and tested against.
Where the site actually stands
Every page has been tested with automated accessibility tooling and by hand: navigating the whole site with the keyboard alone, checking that focus is always visible and never trapped, confirming text and background colours meet the required contrast ratios by measurement rather than by eye, and checking the site with motion reduced and with text enlarged.
No independent third-party audit has been carried out. Rather than claim a conformance level that has not been externally verified, this page describes what was tested and how. If that changes, this page changes.
What that means in practice
Every interactive control can be reached and operated with the keyboard, and a visible focus indicator shows where you are. A skip link at the top of each page jumps past the navigation straight to the content.
Pages use real headings in a sensible order, form fields have real labels, and errors are announced rather than only shown in red. Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; images that are decoration are hidden from screen readers instead of being read aloud as noise.
The body map on the conditions page can be operated entirely by keyboard, and every condition it links to is also present as text on the page, so nothing is available only by pointing at a picture.
If your system is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off rather than merely slowed. Text can be enlarged and the layout reflows down to a narrow phone screen without anything being cut off or requiring sideways scrolling.
Known limitations
The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility firm.
Some photographs are described only in general terms, because they are licensed stock images rather than pictures of this office, and a more specific description would be inaccurate.
